For some Brent Faiyaz made his formal introduction with a memorable hook on GoldLink‘s hit single “Crew.” Prior to that, however, the Maryland-reared singer released a solo EP titled A.M. Paradox in 2016.
He is also one-third of the group Sonder, made up of him and producers Atu and Dpat. Sonder released their Into EP at the top of 2017, garnering critical acclaim and will surely land on some year-end lists.
Brent has now released his proper solo debut, the appropriately-titled Sonder Son. A 12-track effort, Brent could ring bells in the same circles as his contemporaries Daniel Caesar and dvsn (who coincidentally just released their sophomore album, Morning After).
